Although I hold a bachelor's degree in Finance from UNCG, my true passion has always been in the heating and air conditioning industry.
I started in the field in 2018 as a technician. Early in my career, I asked one of the top techs at the company how he became so good. His answer stuck with me: “Just fall in love with it, Mo.” From that moment on, I immersed myself in learning everything I could about HVAC. I took every service call I could, sharpened my skills daily, and eventually became confident diagnosing a wide range of issues and delivering the right solutions.
Over time, my role evolved. I was promoted to Comfort Advisor, where I was trained by some of the top system designers in the region. I learned how to design advanced, highly customized residential HVAC systems—solutions that truly made a difference in people’s comfort.
But as the industry changed, so did I. The rise of private equity in HVAC brought a wave of gimmicky sales tactics and inflated pricing. It just didn’t align with the kind of honest, customer-first service I believed in. So, I stepped away from the field for two years to reflect and build a better vision.
That’s when the name hit me—Know A Guy. Everyone "knows a guy" they trust. I wanted to be that guy for homeowners: the one who delivers the right job at the right price without turning HVAC replacements into car-payment-sized expenses.
With a deep passion for the trade and a commitment to doing right by homeowners, Know A Guy was born.
